Exodus 15:2"The Lord is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation; this is my God, and I will praise him, my father's God, and I will exalt him."

1 Chronicles 16:11 "Seek the Lord and his strength; seek his presence continually!"

1 Chronicles 16:27 "Splendor and majesty are before him; strength and joy are in his place."

What do these three verses from the Old Testament have in common? They all have the word "strength" in them, and all three of these verses are statements - almost proclamations - of the strength of the Lord, our God. How frequently do we go about the day stating our own proclamations about God's strength in our lives? Not very often, right? I don't know about you, but I lament my own weakness, my lack of strength and stamina, and my lack of ability. How about you? Do you openly and loudly declare, "The Lord is my strength and my song" from your rooftop or on your COVID walks around the block? Listen to three more Scripture verses about God's strength:

Psalm 28:7 "The Lord is my strength and my shield; in him my heart trusts, and I am helped; my heart exults, and with my song I give thanks to him."

Luke 1:51 "He has shown strength with his arm; he has scattered the proud in the thoughts of their hearts..."

Ephesians 6:10 "Finally, be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might."

I think we MUST take these verses seriously and start proclaiming them. I think we must stop relying on our own strength and cry out to God for STRENGTH, and lean on His strong might in our lives! Physical, mental, emotional, and especially spiritual strength are all things which our Heavenly Father yearns for us to request from His storehouse of strength. All we need to do is ask! Because God sent Jesus to be our Strength, we need not even attempt to rely on our own strength. We cannot do this on our own! We need Him - we need God's strength and might - and He is waiting for our reliance on Him!

Dear Gracious God, we ask that you give us greater reliance on You for the strength that we daily need. Lord, we cannot go through this life, this season, this time without You. We need You! Give us more of You and Your strength each day! In Jesus' strong name. Amen.
