Lutheran Educators Conference
Another LEC is upon us, and we have been prayerfully planning our November conference for over a year! The theme for our conference this year is “Spiritually Charged”, based on 2 Corinthians 4:7, as Paul writes, “But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us.” It was customary in Paul’s day to conceal treasure in clay jars, which had little beauty and did not attract attention to themselves and their precious content. Here, they represent Paul’s human frailty and unworthiness. Like Paul, we come into God’s presence unworthy and frail, but knowing that the absolute insufficiency of man reveals the total sufficiency of God, and we are humbly grateful for God’s goodness, grace and strength! We will hear much more on this text as we carry the theme throughout the conference and back into our classrooms, offices and homes!
