Rejoice in the Lord always. I will say it again: Rejoice! Let your gentleness be evident to all. The Lord is near. Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:4-7

I've been perpetuating an ongoing pity-party for the past 50+ days as I've dutifully stayed at home and grumbled about all of the planned events on my calendar that have been deleted or postponed indefinitely, and how I feel stuck at home, living each day with the blahs.

A couple days ago, I decided that I needed a more positive outlook and I would start looking for all the good things, the blessings that have happened in the past few weeks. Right now, my list is small, but I can see it growing as I really search for the good rather than bemoan what has been out of my control.

-My family has been healthy. -We've been having beautiful spring weather - the young tree in my yard, that last year had only one bloom, is covered with flowers this year. -I'm thankful for friends who call and/or text to keep in touch.

-I've become a regular on Zoom (Who knew I needed to know about this?).

-I've been able to do a lot of catch-up reading.

-I will worship with my fellow believers and receive Communion with a new appreciation.

Be joyful in hope, patient in affliction, faithful in prayer. Romans 12:12

Dear God,

Help us to notice and appreciate the world around us, the world you have created. Thank you for the many blessings from you each day and help us to see that every gift is from you. Be with those who are not so fortunate and have serious needs at this time. Give them hope and peace, and the knowledge that they are not alone. Thank you that we can Rejoice in what Jesus has done for us. Amen.

A few days ago, my three-year-old daughter came up to me while I was doing some work. She snuggled in next to me and out of the blue said, "Be kind. Be helpful. Be strong. God is with you in your
