Let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering, for he who promised is faithful. And let us consider how to stir up one another to love and good works. Hebrews 10:23-24 Hope - we have heard this word a lot lately! I hope we can see you soon! I hope I can get my haircut and my nails done soon! I hope we will have an in person graduation! I hope to have a summer vacation! I hope to .... fill in the blank.   In the verse above, though, hope is the object of that which we confess.  Earlier in chapter 10 the writer of Hebrews has established Jesus Christ as the once for all sacrifice to sin. That single sacrifice is what establishes, by the witness of the Holy Spirit, that God will remember our sins no more! That is the confession of our hope! Our sins have been forgiven; we have been washed clean! We are now to hold fast to that confession because God is faithful in what He says and does! That certain assurance of God's faithfulness is what holds us fast in all circumstances and gives us motivation to stir one another up to love and good works.   Personally during this challenging time, I have found that when my heart is stirred to love and good works for others, my eyes are off me and my circumstances and on God and His faithfulness! So with a clean heart and our eyes on Jesus, how can we stir each other to love and service today knowing that we have a clean slate with our Heavenly Father?
