I am participating in this event next Wednesday night and I am looking for ideas! Book to read to the crowd (which terrifies me because adults will be present, lol!), and a coordinated craft to have available at a table. The event is only 90 minutes in total and because its at the newly reopened/redecorated library, they asked for no liquid glue or glitter. Individually wrapped treats are allowed, they just ask that no one eat them inside. Please share any and all ideas! Thanks in advance!

I had a preschool teacher who became a librarian. Here's her advice: Words Alive specializes in Family Literacy. When I was at READS I partnered with them and READS is still working with them. She can watch the video of how the book is read and get ideas from that. https://www.wordsalive.org/
Here is a free site to reading questions and resources for the book. https://childrenslibrarylady.com/giraffes-cant-dance/
I attached a pdf of a giraffe that can be cut colored and cut out, but other craft ideas would be to make giraffe masks out of paper plates as well.
Tell her not to worry about the parents they have just as
much fun as the kids do and they love seeing how to read books to their kids. I hope this helps!
(P.s. if they don’t have this book, anything by Mo Willems would be a big hit)!
