Thank you so much for all your help.
Hello Lucy,
You can look at 86565 in the Title 22 regulations to review the personal and volunteer requirements. I have had a behavior therapist on campus working with students in the classroom in the past, and this is what we did.
If they are never going to be alone with the child, you collect the same information from them that you would from a volunteer. 1. Statement of Good Health, 2.) TB test done within the last 12 months, and a 3.) record of Tdap and MMR.
Have the person sign in and out on a volunteer sign-out sheet in your office when they arrive and before they leave the classroom. It is important that they are always under the supervision of a fully qualified teacher on your staff because the therapist is not fingerprinted and is associated with your center.
If the behavior therapist wants to work one-on-one and will be out of the direct supervision of your staff , the parent will need to add the behavior therapist as an authorized individual to sign the child in and out of your care. The therapist should sign the child out when they leave the supervision of your staff and then sign the child back in when the child is back in your care.
I have attached the form that we give our volunteers to explain all of this, in the event that it is helpful.
We have a behavior therapist who comes. I just have on file her fingerprint clearance, immunizations, flu shot or waiver and TB test.
